Correspondence: [email protected] Application: Offering protection and authentication for digital models, G-code applications, and printed objects created in additive manufacturing. Abstract: Digital and analog contents, generated in additive manufacturing (AM) processes, may be illegally modified, distributed, and reproduced. Within this write-up, we propose a watermarking scheme to improve the safety of AM. Compared with standard watermarking approaches, our algorithm possesses the following positive aspects. 1st, it protects geometric models and printed parts too as G-code programs. Secondly, it embeds watermarks into both polygonal and volumetric models. Thirdly, our system is capable of building watermarks inside the interiors and on the surfaces of complicated models. Fourth, the watermarks may seem in various forms, like character strings, cavities, embossed bumps, and engraved textures. The proposed watermarking approach is composed on the following measures. Initially, the input geometric model is converted into a distance field. Then, the watermark is inserted into a area of interest by utilizing self-organizing mapping. Lastly, the watermarked model is converted into a G-code system by utilizing a specialized slicer. Quite a few robust methods are also developed to authenticate digital models, G-code system.
